Buddha Birth Day is an annual event that celebrates the birthday of Gautama Buddha. The celebrations at South Bank are the largest in the world and include free entertainment for the whole family. Spread over three days, patrons can head along to see cultural displays, enjoy live performances (including cooking demonstrations and live music) and purchase vegetarian food from market stalls in the Cultural Forecourt. There will also be a fireworks display on the Brisbane River on 30 April. For a complete list of what’s on and where, head to Buddha Birth Day’s official website.
