Atira successfully launched its second Melbourne-based location, Atira Peel Street in February 2019. Located in North Melbourne, the 576 bed property comprises two towers and delivers premium student living with modern apartments, spectacular common areas and a dynamic residential life program.

A triumph of design

Conceived by architecture firm Hayball, Atira Peel Street gives consideration to the heritage context and emphasises positive connections to the local community. The undulating form of the facade reflects back the immediate locality, and is animated by seasonal weather patterns and changing light conditions.

A fluid gradient of colour acts as a backdrop to each communal space. As the building facade reflects and responds to changing light, the interior highlights reference the changing colours of light itself, incorporating human-centric lighting principles to aid in the comfort of the occupants. Through light installations, the interior offers a junction between static structure and dynamic movement, creating a play of light, colour and shadow.

A convenient location on the fringe of the Melbourne CBD

Atira Peel Street is conveniently located in close proximity to retail centres, public transport and Melbourne’s celebrated food scene. Major educational institutions including the University of Melbourne and RMIT University among others are all just a short trip away, allowing students to commute from home to class in a matter of minutes.
